Your 2026 Social Media Plan: What to Keep, What to Cut

A practical social media plan for Pakistani brands in 2026: which platforms deserve your time, how often to post, how to use creators and how to measure what actually sells.

Your 2026 Social Media Plan: What to Keep, What to Cut

In short:

  • Pick two main platforms and do them well, instead of five badly.
  • Short vertical video and creator content drive reach. Your own account builds trust.
  • Measure social by what it does for sales and leads, not by follower counts.

Every January, brands ask us the same question: “What should we do on social media this year?” Here’s the plan we’re using with clients for 2026, based on what worked and what didn’t over the last two years.

Keep

  • Short vertical video. Reels, TikToks and Shorts still give the most reach for the effort. One good video can be posted on all three.
  • Creator partnerships. Small and mid-sized creators with engaged audiences often beat big names on cost per sale. The best results come when creator videos are also run as paid ads, so they reach beyond the creator’s own followers.
  • Trial Reels on Instagram for testing hooks before posting to your followers.
  • WhatsApp for customer conversations, broadcasts to opted-in customers and Channels for regular updates.

Cut

  • Daily posting for the sake of it. Three strong posts a week beat seven forgettable ones.
  • Platforms your customers don’t use. If X or LinkedIn don’t bring you customers, stop forcing it.
  • Vanity metrics. Followers and likes are not a business result.
  • Copy-paste captions across platforms. Adapt the tone for each.

A simple weekly rhythm

Format Per week Purpose
Short videos 2–3 Reach new people
Carousel or static post 1–2 Educate, show products, social proof
Stories Daily Offers, behind the scenes, polls, keeping followers close
Creator content 2–4 per month Trust and new audiences, reused as ads

How to measure

  1. Track link clicks, DMs and WhatsApp chats from social each week.
  2. Use discount codes or UTM links per creator and campaign.
  3. Watch which organic posts get saves and shares, then turn those into ads.
  4. Review monthly: what drove sales, what drove nothing, what to try next.
