Website Speed Checklist for Pakistani Sites in 2026

Most Pakistani visitors browse on mid-range Android phones over mobile data. Here's a practical speed checklist for Shopify and WordPress sites, built around Core Web Vitals: LCP, INP and CLS.

Website Speed Checklist for Pakistani Sites in 2026

In short:

  • Core Web Vitals are LCP (loading), INP (responsiveness) and CLS (visual stability).
  • Targets: LCP 2.5 seconds or less, INP 200 ms or less, CLS 0.1 or less, for at least 75% of visits.
  • Images, apps/plugins and third-party scripts cause most problems.

Speed is one of the few website improvements that helps everything at once: ad conversion rates, SEO, bounce rates and customer trust. And in Pakistan, where most traffic comes from mid-range Android phones on mobile data, it matters more than in markets with fast connections everywhere.

The three numbers

Metric What it measures Good
LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) How fast the main content appears ≤ 2.5 s
INP (Interaction to Next Paint) How fast the page responds to taps and clicks ≤ 200 ms
CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) How much the layout jumps while loading ≤ 0.1

The checklist

Images

  • Use WebP or AVIF, sized for mobile.
  • Don’t lazy-load the main hero image. Do lazy-load everything below it.
  • Always set width and height to prevent layout jumps.

Apps, plugins and scripts

  • Remove unused Shopify apps and WordPress plugins. Uninstalled apps sometimes leave code behind; check your theme.
  • Delay chat widgets, heatmaps and review widgets until after the page loads.
  • Keep one tag manager and avoid duplicate pixels.

Theme and layout

  • Avoid heavy sliders and autoplay videos on the homepage.
  • Limit custom fonts to two families and a few weights.
  • Reserve space for banners and pop-ups so they don’t push content down.

Hosting and caching

  • For WordPress: good hosting, page caching and a CDN.
  • For Shopify: hosting is handled, so focus on theme and apps.

How to test

  1. Check the Core Web Vitals report in Google Search Console for real-user data.
  2. Run key pages through PageSpeed Insights.
  3. Test by hand on a mid-range Android phone over mobile data. If it feels slow to you, it feels slow to your customers.
